Just a quick post to end the week on the whole issue of the electronic medical health record and how it relates to the IT piece of the stimulus package. First of all, if you are in the healthcare business (hospital, home healthcare, clinic, lab, skilled nursing, etc.), you want to take a look at the government's website. This way, you can get all of the facts on EMR.
For example, did you know that when you convert to electronic medical records you qualify for some of the stimulus funding? Did you know that if you do it sooner, you qualify for more? And, did you know that if you don't do it within the prescribed timeframes that you'll not only lose out on the funding -- you'll be penalized?
